Hey all,

A while ago I saw a post in this forum from somebody who was talking about when buying a K98 Mauser, do your research and what not. I am pretty sure that the OP had a pretty extensive wealth of knowledge on the K98 and was offering sound advice for those looking to purchase an authentic K98. I am unable to locate the thread now, so I am reaching out to the milsurp crowd to help me find that person. If you recall the thread, and know the OP; please drop me a pm.

CanadianAR or jbmauser, they will be around shortly I'm sure.

The consensus seems to be that importing a well researched original K98k from the United States is the way to go. Not much around in Canada these days unfortunately. I would have those gentlemen look the rifle over before purchasing anything.
