Hello All,

I am looking to work up some good, high power loads for my Mosins. I have a couple loading books but they do not include ballistic charts or the full spectrum of components.

So!

I would like to ask people here if you would not mind sharing your best top loads, giving the information of:

-Powder Manufacturer and Designation
-Bullet Grainage and Manufacture
-Case Manufacture
-Amount of Grains of Powder per Charge
- Any additional information you have availiable, these are for high-power (full house) loads, not plinkers with Red Dot powder ;). All the same, if you have a nice fast burning pistol powder load, include it here!

Cheers and Good Listing,
Drachenblut

For my 91/30s I generally use 46gr of Reloader 15 with 150gr hornady .312 bullets with great success. Point of aim evertime with the iron sights.

For my 1891 i typically use 48 gr of Reloader 15 with the same 150gr Hornady bullets. Really accurate load.

I have been usuing Prvi brass and a mix of Federal and Winchester lrg rifle primers

Well, I have not been loading for long, but here is what works for me and my 91/30.

150gr hot-cor speer bullets, PRVI Brass, 42.8gr IMR 3031 and Win Large rifle primers. I worked that load up from 40.4gr and it seem to be right for my rifle. Pretty hot but no pressure signs. Anything past that I lost my group.

Good luck, lots of manuals out there have x54r in them, just have to look around.

I wouldn't recommend using anyones "hot" load to start, never know what shape your rifles in. Could cause some serious problems, but i'm sure you know that already.

Use 308Win data for similar weight bullets. That will give you a palce to start.

use the Start load and work up to find what your rifle likes. Use a medium speed powder you already have in the 3031 to 4350 range.

Good point. I started at 42gr I believe, and was almost in the dirt at 100m! - but of course, better safe then blown up:D
