The scoop on Winchester Production of M70, and M94

Look for a quick reintroduction when the contract has run it's course.
There are of course thousands of already made parts in warehouses abouts, hard to say how the contract relates to them.

FN sells them as PBRs I believe. Not sure if they make them in one of thier other factories or not. - dan

The model 70 was always too good to kill. And they were steadily improving over the years, they're were pretty much back up to pre-64 quality recently.

The m70 represents a lot of the brand value of the Winchester name, not to mention the m94. Between the two, I'd say they represent most of what 'winchester' means to the public.

So I suspect they'll be back. I can't really see winchester retiring the name and introducing a model 71 or something like that

Win. introduced the Model 71 many years ago, an update of the 1886, both are excellent rifles.

Olin licensed to Browning(Herstal) the use of Winchester name for firearms.The last user, US Repeating Arms was owned by Herstal.Herstal is FN.I don't know how Miruko,the Japanese maker of Brownings,fits in.
