When I purchased the 220 Swift Remington VS SF in November I THOUGHT it was a good rifle and after test shooting a couple hand loads inside of 1/2" at 200 yards I was sure it would do well. But after I bought a Timney trigger and had Accuracy Plus do their magic with the trigger install and adjustment to 1 1/2 pound pull with zero creep or take up and a new speed lock firing pin and custom shroud, this dog will bark. Needless to say I am tickled that this rifle has turned out so slick and can't wait for the dirt pigs to arise from their slumber. I've got a swivel Harris on the way and the US Optics Anti Cant installed, just waiting to stretch it's legs. I'm seriously considering a Timney for my 300 RUM now:rolleyes: Now I just need to finalize the load and load a wack of ammo for April.
 
Sounds like you have a fine rifle there CW. You have now been officially bitten by the "Swift" bug. There is NO cure!! I have owned about 11 Swifts over the past 30 years, and have 2 at present. I like the Swift better than any other 22 centerfire, period! Flat shooting, and arrives at 500+ with enough energy to flatten a coyote. My Swifts are both wonderfully accurate, with 5-shot groups hovering around 3/8" @ 100. 50 Ballistic tip at 4000, tough to beat! Enjoy your Swift. Eagleye.
 
Ohhh sounds like a varmints nightmare :evil: I had that same rifle in identical cal, minus the add ons and like eagleye said its the best 22 cal out there.
I smaked a coyote at over 400 yards and held right on his chest and he went lights out, flop dead.
I will soon be looking for another swift for the summer, wish I never sold my last one.

While the Remington factory trigger can be worked into a nice trigger, the Timney is definitely the way to go IMO.
 
I started with the 55 grain Nosler BT's in hopes of a little better ability to defeat some cross wind influences as the are I hunt is rarely calm. From everything I've heard however the 50's or 52's are the better way to go. We'll have to see what the crony and 300 yard target have to say about the 55's. I'm very keen to get a pet load developed and start the spring snipping for those dirt pigs. Those US Optics anti cants from ### are the dope! Very neat device and over built for hard service. My Sako 260 rem Varminter will also wear the 30mm version on a Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 LR/T ill TMR.
 
Very nice setup, the snow will be gone soon! Seems like they just don't pop out fast enough! My only problem with it is I have a hard time picturing it without ANY PICS!!

OKay pics will be posted in the next day. Not much to see other than the custom shroud and the US OPtics Anti Cant mounted....but you asked for it! I really like the fact that it is the older style HS Precision stock with the narrower palm and more of a straight grip than the new style. Oh ya and the flutes aren't painted and won't chip away after a year.

Just happen to have a high velocity .224 myself ready for some hawg'n come spring. No bells and whistles just one #### of a boom;)

Thanks DB.....Like I said most the mods are internal and she looks stock other than the shiny shroud and that nifty US Optics swivel anti cant. Still she's a good looker and she knows how to dance!
 
The 220 went out to the range yesterday with the 243 WSSM and shot a 3 round group with two of the bullet holes touching eachother and the other inside 1" @ 220 yards on a wet, drizzly day. Can't wait for Friday of this comming week to get out to the alphalfa feilds and start the carniage
 
OUTSTANDING!!!! Took her out for her first wiggle today in Waterloo on the alphalfa feilds.....3 for 3 she went with the longest @ 218 yards lazered. UNFREAKIN' BELEIVABLE how this rifle just eats anything inside 250 even with minimal wind dopping. The 220 Swift is certainly an ausome cartridge but it just doesn't report the same as a .243 does with that holo thud on inpact. The dirt pigs just tend to roll over and its lights out..right NOW! No air show or anything. The 243 WSSM with 70g BT's will be my next wiggle partner out on the feilds for a day of varmint control. Chilly rating on this rifle is a solid 9 out of 10.....if their was a more dramatic impact it would be 10/10.
