The Tactical Dilemma...A Geek Gun?

What you really need is the Army's "Land Warrior" prototype for an M4 carbine. IR Laser designator, FLIR, small LCD screen to display what the FLIR sees or IR laser puts the spot onto. Other neat gee-whiz ideas I can't recall, but the rifle actually seems to disappear when all the technology is added. Don't know the actuall weight, but I'd guess about 7 kg (15.5 pounds). Oh, yeah, batteries aren't included in the multi-thousand dollar price tag. No GPS either.

It's beginning to look simpler (and cheaper) just to nuke 'em. Saves all the beating around the bush and the PBI don't have to carry all the extra weight around......

I'm thinking back scratcher where the bayonet usually goes - just keep fingers away from the trigger when in use.

This airsofter in Afghanistan seems to think a GPS on his rifle works well. :)
Circumstances dictates the need I guess.

A hotplate would be nice, so you could boil water to heat MREs. To sell them though they would need to be called "Hotblackwater infrared tactical heating element".
See "Flaming Hot AK" Thread. Maybe you just need to put more rounds through it? :D

Ahab -- well he was too dumb not the replace the C79 - does not have a BIS with the C79-- seems to have no PAQ4C or PEQ2A -- so I dont think I'd be realying on him for tactical genius

the fricken rifle is clutered enough -- adding a GPS is ####ign stupid - PERIOD.
and BTW BigRed has a pretty good idea on which end the bullet comes out - no need to patronize him
