When I asked the Kel Tec rep didn't even blink:

"We built it because we could."

Initially designed to meet European overall length requirements, this prototype KSG has an extended barrel and magazine tubes. It holds a full box of shells: 25 rounds total.

It's 11.5lbs fully loaded according to Kel Tec. They're producing an initial run of 5000 guns to see how they do.

Meanwhile.

They'll be able to sell a 5000 unit production run without any trouble. Enough people will want it just for the "Hells yah!" factor.

11.5 Lbs is a lot to lump through a 3 gun course. Might be worth it to avoid having to reload.

Jeff Cooper once said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "You'll make no friends walking around SHOT and asking "What's it for?"

Hmmm.... If it comes with choke tubes and mag plugs for duck hunting im sold! ;)

Seriously tho. It would be interesting to see how this thing swings compared to the shorter one.
