You inspired me to blow the dust off my 308 BAR. I've had this 3-9x50 VXII kicking around - the bell is way too big for my tastes. What the heck - mounted it on the BAR with some fudd-approved Weavers. I mostly hunt alone, so no one will have to see it.

Nice work! While I seem to have a slightly repressed FUDD gene, I'm not the least offended by the practicality of a long Pic rail or a 10 round magazine on a BAR hunting rifle. Don't give up on solving the magazine problem, the answer is out there. I wonder is the magazine and spring from an FN-49 (.30/06) could be modified to lengthen the BAR magazine. If you think it might work, I might be able to help.
