Just checked my application status and lo and behold it said that I should be receiving a late Christmas gift sometime in the new year :D. Its been a long journey to get here. I took the CFSC/CRFSC course in March and now 8 months later I'm almost part of the Canadian firearms community. Thank you to all the great people who participate in and maintain the community for all the advice and encouragement it helps a lot. Merry Christmas and happy shooting I hope to be out there with you in the coming year.
 
If you want to make it a REALLY happy Christmas, you can call up the CFO Office and get your PAL and expiry date over the phone. Then you are free to order online. You could have your first firearm before the card arrives in the mail.
 
8 months was due to me I was out of the country from april till august so i didnt have a chance to finish my application till september. Plus i was missing a signature on my photo and the letter from the rcmp requesting the missing info got lost in the postal system which added another delay.

I am gonna call the CFOs office as soon as I can it'd be awesome if my lisence arrives to find a shiny new toy waiting for it.

You're lucky the Ontario CFO office will give your number out before your card arrives, the BC CFO usually won't if you're a first time license holder...

gee i must always get the slow desk lol took 8 months for non restricted then i applied for restricted in aug and just got card on dec 20this is with no problems and two calls to see everything ok would have been longer but lady approved on ph and refrences were called in sept and again in dec as took too long to issue

Here hoping my status changes tomorrow, i didnt know i could call the Ontario CFO for my Pal number? If thats true then Merry Xmas to me lol!
