The wife looking for a 20 gauge semi-auto-26' barrel-lighter in weight: suggestions?

The wife would like a lighter semi-auto 20 gauge, with a 26" barrel, and she likes the look of wood. Also doesn't want to break the bank.
I was thinking a Weatherby Element Upland in 20 gauge with 26" barrel? Someone suggested a Tristar Raptor 20ga/26" in wood?
What do you gents think and who has them in stock? Thanks in advance for your help!
 
My wife shoots a 20ga Beretta A-400 Xplore with a 26"bbl. Weighs a whopping 6lbs! LOL
A full pound lighter than my 20ga SX3 28" Winchester. I would never spend a dime on a turkish made semi as the two you posted above. Buy once cry once, you get what you pay for.
 
Nothing more frustrating than a semi that doesn't function properly. Especially to a new shooter.

I would be looking at the A400, and an SX-4 or SX-3, whichever fits better. The SX-3/4 are cheaper, and the A400 is lighter, and they fit very differently.

They are a gooder and for almost near2k one can get it at Reliable.
Op, the built for Weatherby would be a good choice.
Only drawn backs are this one is 28inches.
Also, do not get them wet for too long.
The wood will swell and eventually crack.
Seen one that was dropped in the river for a couple hours while they waited for the tide to ebb so they could retrieve the gun.
But, it was too late the damage was done.
Synthetic stock would have not been anything to worry about.

Try a tristar viper G3, raptor is low end tristar
 
Avoid cheap semi autos like the plague. 20ga ammo is also difficult to find and even more so at a decent price.
Buy once cry once go beretta if you can otherwise Winchester has a nice upland sx4 available at tillsonberg.

My daughter shoots a tristar 20g Raptor ,except for the choke tube bulging(thanks BB) which I replaced it has been pretty well bulletproof.7 boxes of duck loads and probably same in trap.She likes the 26" barrel.Compared to my 20g Browning gold it is cheaper all around but how much will she shoot it? The Browning has at least 5-6 thousand(yes thousand) and it is chugging along as my go to for early ducks.20g shells more expensive ,everything is expensive grabbed a few cases of Kent 2.0 in 20 year ago they were cheaper than 12"s.
 
Yes, a family at our club shot a 20 gauge Tristar Raptor for several years. I was skeptical at first but they shot it hard and often, several hours at each weekly range outing, two teenage girls and two younger boys and it went continuously, never missed a beat. I’m sure they burned up a flat or two every week, week after week for at least a couple of years, you do the math. I don’t know if they’re all like this one but I became truly impressed with the reliability of this under $1000 gun, and it looked good too! I shot it a time or two, it was solid, crisp, smooth, balanced nicely and I considered it great value for the price
 
Maybe I'm weird, but if the wife said she wanted a shotgun... I would
- Get her to pick whatever strikes her fancy, and would be more than happy to subsidize the purchase :bigHug: because a happy wife with a shotgun has got to be worth it's weight in gold.
- I'd get her to try (shoulder) has many gun as possible... and I'd throw some "nice" SxS and O/U in the mix... (because a nice little 20g sidelock would fit nicely into the safe :p)

In the "don't break the banq" category (new) I'd would have suggested a Browning BPS.
- Available in 26", 20g... about $1K

A Browning Silver Field or Winchester SX4 will run you about $1600

- Are her dad/brother into hunting? Might want to check with them if they want to pitch in $ to get a "nice" shotgun for their daughter/sister...

I have a Benelli Montefeltro Silver in 20g. Sweet gun, 5.6 lbs, hits where it’s pointed, flawless functioning, highly recommended, I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
 
1950's vintage Ithaca 37 FWT 20ga 28" FC is my upland gun.I know no screw in chokes but sweet to carry and deadly on pheasants.
