These are weird looking..../M1

My guess is that these are freshly milled parts that are going into, or out of, a tumbler used to smooth some of the milling marks.

Of course this is just an educated guess.

btw, nice to see you here on cgn clancy, i've seen your trivia posts on battlerifles/amback and quite enjoy them!

The answer to the picture above is as follows:

The M1 Garand Clips are being Zinc Coated before the Parkerizing is done.

Have you got any info on people doing rebuilds on M1Ds, clancy? I've got a Springfield M1D with an M84 that went to the Danes, but one of the inner lenses has a blemish on it, and I'm wondering if it would be possible to have it rebuilt.
