they f%^*&ked with my favourite ammo

Was at a local gunstore today and saw some of favourite .22 on the shelf and was going to buy some till i looked at it. It was CCI std vel target my go to ammo for a long time. when i looked at the package they were all copper plated bullets WTF and the packaging said 40 grn copper plated. I do not like plated ammo in my MkIITR only lubed lead. What was CCI thinking???

My wife and I have a beef with "new and improved" everything that we like that is "new and improved" is usually "New and F---ed up" Leave it alone didn't antbody learn from Coke. Cheers Roscoe

Sure it weren't a mistake - bad batch, wrong labels or sumthin? I ain't seen nuthing but Std Velocity in the gray.

Me too. the last few bricks i bought in the summer were all grey/lubed. Guy at the store said this is what he got when ordering std vel. He is going to see if there are two types? And I was getting ready to order a case or two in a group buy with a few guys at the club. First thought was wrong label but the label said 40 grn copper plated.

America Eagle .40gr solids...darn near match grade, don't let the dirt cheap price or only 1250fps scare you.

Cci website still says LRN - lead round nose. I think it was just a mistake.

I bought a brick last week, and they were lubed LRN, not plated.

They better not F with em, otherwise it's back to the drawing board for ammo in my new MKII.

Start weighing the CCI stnd velocity and watch your groups shrink even more. It takes me about an hour and a half to weigh out a brick, but my groups improve exponentially as nearly all rando flyer's are eliminated.

Perhaps you might post a picture of the box and packaging, and the stock number.

Without accurate identification of the ammo, it might be something besides what you think it is or expect.

"NEW and IMPROVED" usually means new "label graphics", smaller size and same or higher price!!!

Are you sure you did not buy the California non tox CCI ST VEL ammo? This is all I could think of, but that stuff is $15 for 50 rounds? I work at a real gunshop( not big box store) and all out CCI ST VEL is still the very excellent lead Round Nose type. Cheers Dale Z!

And if you shoot enough just go buy a flat or 2 and that way you should have enough ammo to last a year!
