When a supposedly knowledgable fellow gun owner says he can grab a couple hundred rounds of 223/5.56 NATO for your AR while out and returns with a $340 bill and 200 rounds of 223 WSSM.......and the store has a no return policy on ammo.

Now I have 200 rounds of totally unusable, weird calibre ammo I need to move and am out $340......

Any ideas?

FYI: The ammo is in the EE if anyone cares.

I didn't know there was 200 rounds of 223 WSSM anywhere!

I mean for one, how do you say you will grab a few hundred rounds of 223 Rem and come back with 200 rounds of 223 WSSM in the first place?

And what kind of bull:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: ethics does Bass Pro have where they would sell that to someone? Like I am sure SOMEONE asked the question before the purchase if that was the right ammo.....

That is truly amazing. I dont thin I have ever seen that much 223 wssm on the shelf here

Since your buddy offered this 'deal' to you and phucked up, he should at minimum split the loss with you. IMO, he made the mistake he should return it or refund it. It's not what he told you (or at least what you believed you were ordering-his mistake).........but i do get the good intentions.

Agreed. split costs with your buddy.

Would you ask for money back if he brought you back something for lunch that you couldn't eat? (ie: allergic)

Personally, I'd still feel bad making him pay for it all, but half is not unreasonable.

Then give him that half of the ammunition he purchased and let him sell it on his own.

No reason you should be in the hole for the entire cost.

Did he go out and get them so you guys could go shoot? or did he just go because you were busy?

The ammo IS on the EE for $300 OBO. I am in the Calgary area so local is preferred but not essential. I am obviously willing to deal here.

The thing that stings me is that 223 Rem makes up, oh I dunno, like 99% of the 223 market! And the person knew it was for an AR/Swiss Arms and was even shown a picture of the correct stuff online.

It is all a Christmas gift gone wrong actually. So not only will the person not be recieving the ammo, the intended giver is out $340.

You should give me one for my growing cartridge collection. I've never even heard of .223wssm, what's so special about it?

Very short, very fat, very much it seems, an answer to the question nobody bothered to ask. Some bright spark decided that the Winchester Super Short Magnum product line needed one of each bore size, whether it made good sense or not.

Cheers
