I have been thinking about getting into black powder shooting, I have been eyeing the pietta 1860 army from marstar. What other items do I need to get with the revolver in order to get started, also what can i expect cost wise, is it cheaper or more expensive than shooting regular rounds. Any info or direction would be great.

Here is your basic kit:
pistol
black powder (or substitute)
percussion caps
bullets
lube (or lubed wads)
nipple wrench and powder horn are alos very usefull tools.

See this website for more infos (erase the spaces):

cheaper, unless all you do now is slow-fire rimfire pistols, black powder is cheaper by far.

Shooting black powder is more involved and sets a more relaxed pace, and you simply will not, can not go through more powder and lead in your percussion pistol as you would in your cartridge revolver, without spending a HELL of alot more time on the range.
