Think I am buying P226 tomorrow

If you like the feel, you can't go wrong.

Any quality issues that people might discuss are going to be very minor in nature. SIG is a quality name and the 226 is very popular.

Of the more costly pistols in that bracket such as the USP, P99, various 1911 models and more, the 226 would be my personal choice.

So as stated above I think I will be purchasing a sig P226 stainless in .40 new tomorrow. All of the reading I have done says they are high quality and a really good weapon. The few times I have shot a sig I have liked it. My question is does anyone have any reasons to not buy one? I am buying with IPSC in mind and possibly IPDA. Any other suggestions?

If you're look for serious reasons not to get one, the trigger pull could be better, not as easy to do a trigger job on as the sheet steel guns, IMO. Although it can be done.

Also I'm underwhelmed by the mags.

I always think that SIG Arms dropped the ball on the .40 P226 with the design of the mags, because they just took the 9mm mags and widened the lips slightly, whereas the P229 magazine is a bespoke magazine that is wider than the P228 magazine.

I'm pretty sure the spring pressure in them is a little on the high side as well, although I can't prove it.

Sights could be better regulated from the factory, mine shoots a bit low, but I suppose it depends on the ammo.

However I have to say I'm truly nitpicking, I can't think of a major reason not to get one.
