Thinking about M91/30..

the bore condition and the rifling are excellent. i am not a good shooter. i just started shooting and i was using surplus ammo.
at first i was getting crappy groups but at the end of the day i managed to get really good shots

you will find ammo at frontier and marstar had some crates(i bought one)
local gunshows are good sources for milsurp ammo (at 10 dollars per box of 20)

reloading is a good option
i will start to do so in the summer
(i will get a lee 50th anniversary kit)

There are a lot of factors that come into play with surplus Mosin Nagant rifles, even those straight out of the crate. Firstly, all of these rifles will have a point of impact about 7" high at 100m. Why? They were sighted in with the bayonet in place, which was Soviet SOP.

Accuracy depends on barrel condition, trigger quality and how the barrel-action are stocked up. I have rifles with fantastic condition barrels and creepy triggers, average barrels with fantastic single stage triggers, etc, etc.

Oddly enough, my most accurate M91/30 is an arsenal refurbished 1939 Izhevsk. It has a good barrel, smooth crisp single stage trigger, and is stocked in a post war laminate stock. It will consistently group 2" (sometimes a little better) with surplus Czech 60's light ball at 100m. POI is still about 6" high, but centred for line.

I recommend either Tula or Izhevsk from 1941 or earlier. All stamped matching, with an excellent barrel. Laminate stocks are attractive and rarer then birch but are post war manufacture. No arsenal repairs to the wood.

All of these rifles come with a sling, bayonet, and cleaning kit (jag, bore guide, handle, oil bottle, screw driver, pouch). With the reasonable price of surplus ammunition, they are a pleasure to shoot and a true piece of military history.
