Well, as I'm sure you all know, summer's around now, and I thought that'd be excuse enough to treat myself to another gun
. I've wanted a shotgun for awhile now, one that could be taken hiking or hunting as a bear gun (and no, this is not another bear defence thread lol), and I was wondering about the Mossberg 500 Mariner, available from SIR for just under $400. Anyone own this and have anything good/bad to say about it? How about aftermarket parts, I like how it is just stock, but if I say wanted to add ghost ring sights are these easily available and such? I realize it may not be as versatile (aftermarket accessories) as an 870 but I like this gun, probably due to the stock mag. capacity and relatively low price. Also, I considered the Persuader model as well, but it doesn't have as nearly nice finish, and I figured spending a bit more on a shotgun that won't corrode as easily (this wouldn't be near sal####er though, so it's probably a bit overkill, but I can live with that) would be worth it.
Thanks in advance, Chris
