Thinking of buying a 10/22

One 10/22 accessory I forgot to mention (it even would be useful for your bolt 22's) is a self reseting steel flipper target. I have the birchwood-casey one it has 4 lower targets and one above. when you shoot the lower ones once they are all up you shoot the upper target which releases the lower ones. It is a true hoot I have put thousands of rounds at mine.

here is one like it from cabelas

What do folks do with the sling loops on these if you want a bipod stud? Just cut the loop off with the dremel or unscrew the ##### and screw in a normal stud?

On a side note, I've always been a forged and milled kind of rifle guy......these cast ruger receivers and parts (mini 14 included) are just soooo huge compared to forged stuff. I guess it has to be bigger to ensure it's durable enough to last. No offence to any 10/22 lovers on here, but when I first stripped it down, all I could think of was how many corners were cut to make these things from the old days of forging and milling. Not that it's a bad thing, just the way things have been going for the last 50 years......:) Still a functional solid firearm.
I would bet Ruger's cost to pump out a complete 10/22 is under $40 a rifle at the end of the day........

usually remove the factory ruger swivels and install uncle mikes studs with a dab of gorilla glue to hold them in there good. make sure to let the glue set 24 hours before screwing harris bipod on.

I do my bipods up hand tight and then allen wrench tight, + 1/4 turn so they are on there snug.

Got the parts from Hawktech, piece of cake to install, the entire trigger group breaks down real easy. The buffer was harder to get in then tearing down the trigger group. The VQ mag release is the bomb, the auto bolt release is OK but for the little I will actually use it....eh, guess it's worth the $10.:) No over travel now with the VQ trigger installed, trigger is already decent so I don't see myself spending any money on hammers or sears.
Now I gotta get some mags, might have to order from the US as I can't find any Steel Lips in Canada anywhere. With mags, that will be it, she's done.:)

Nice T, Hitzy...............HHHHHMmmmmmmmmm..........I don't really need another .22, but............ Oh ok, I should get one of the CZ452 LH first, then maybe a T.

Basic model - and build it from there.

The accuracy on a target model is modestly better, but not nearly to the amount you can attain with a good aftermarket barrel.

If you're building a REALLY accurate rig (ie: lots of money!), all you're really after is the receiver. Everything else will be replaced anyway.

How much is a new 10/22 going for now in Canada?
Stainless?
