I love the 1911 ergos but 7 rounds of 45 is just not doing it any more. I have 1000's of .40 loaded and waiting so i figured why not just switch to that cal all together. .40 1911 is an option but not sure i want to go that rout.
So talk me into or out of making this deal.

Have you run out of room that you have to choose? If not and you like the gun then try the new flavour and let the 1911 take a break.

The only time I would suggest getting rid of it was if you tried to like it and just never really warmed up to it. Or if you got a better one and wanted to ditch the entry level model. ( although even then it would be good to have a loaner)

So buy the 8 round mags?..... Quality over quantity.

If shooting is beginning to bore you to where you're letting this sort of thing get to you then it's time to up the anty. Stop standing in one spot while perforating paper. Because after the initial magic wears away IT IS BORING! ! ! ! Granted it's nice to get out and work on the basics with a target now and then. But not as a steady option.

Instead look into what your local clubs are hosting for different competitions. THAT'S one of the better reasons for having handguns anyway.

I know that in my case if it wasn't for the IPSC, IDPA, Speed Steel and Cowboy Action events I'd never have gotten into shooting as heavily. Or I may not have bothered with my RPAL at all. THAT is how much the ability to take part in different action shooting means to me.

For what you get selling the norc, keep it and buy an 85 anyways...save for one more month and you'll have two fun guns at the range. You will regret selling it, and probably end up buying another one. So keep it and save a bit longer and have both!

You can buy 10 rd .45 single stack mags too. I'd also keep your Norc .45. They are so low value wise, it can't possibly be holding you back financially.
.40 S&W is good too. I might get one of them in CZ TS style to match the 9mm version.

Not sure I'm totally following. You looking to get a 40 regardless? Is the 45 not your thing or the 7 rounds not your thing?

CZ doesn't make a 40 in the 85. They do in the 75 but not that common. IF the 40 is a must, I'd scrimp and get the CZ tac sport.

In terms of capacity, there is not much diff between 7 and 10 so I personally don't see that as much of a differentiator unless you want to compete. Is that what you are intimating? A CZ 75 or 85 in 9mm would be great for that.

just get a couple 10 round mags. if your that strapped that you have to sell your norinco (a 250$ used value with you paying the shipping cause no one is paying 300$ for a used norinco that is 300$ new at canammo.) then maybe you shouldn't be shooting?? unless you just don't believe in keeping multiple guns...

Why would the .40 do it more that the .45? there both about the same cost to shoot...

As others have said, keep the 1911, also buy the CZ.

NAA.

keep the 1911. AND buy a .40 pistol. I love my MP40, G22 and will get a HK P30L in .40 as well. you could also get PPQ M2 in 40, but I personally will get it in 9mm.

Two of my favourite norincos are the 1911 and the NZ-85. I love the narrow yet heavy feel of the 1911, but also like the similar weight and double action first shot of the NZ. It's pretty much a draw, maybe I like the 1911 a bit more.
Since that 1911 isn't likely worth more than $300, just keep it. You can't go wrong having both.
