It is lame. I come and click refresh about once every hour and usually nothing.

So I thought I would start a topic complaining about how no body talks about precision rifles once deer hunting season starts up.

I went shooting every day this weekend.

Friday I was shooting my CZ 452 varmint at 100 yards and grouping .58- just over 1". Was awesome. Was using ELEY standard as Jo Brooks was out of ELEY match. Shot identical to the match and even a few groups were better than I ever got with match ammo.
Saturday I helped a buddy sight in his new Traditions ML that took 2 hours cause he was given the wrong sabots and his scope was only fingered tightened on. Frustrating. Had no idea what was going on as I don't shoot ML and was total guessing until someone there noticed that the sabots were for ball ammo.
facepalm.
Then noticed scope was wiggly after were still couldn't get it to group reliably.
I also shot my CZ 858 and got it cutting hairs at 100 and then did some practice with my 7mmRM that I want to take a deer at 600+ with this year. It was grouping weird and I noticed that he brass was cracking at the neck. I had adjusted the barrel earlier as I don't have a go/no go gauge so I tightened it too much I guess, total noob in learning here.
Sunday. Fixed the barrel and changed the OVL length on my 7mmRM. took to range again and fired with the bullets seated a bit deeper and everything looks great now. grouping in the .6 (not bad for factory barrel). Dude there had a chrony so I chronoed it at 2861 FPS and then printed myself off a new ballistic chart. I have shot the gun once out to 650 and it produced sub MOA groups. I totally want to take a deer long range this season.

im putting money down for a new barrel and waiting my stock from jwprecision, I'd rather spend as few time here as possible, however I can't.

just paid my new winter tires, ####in broke.

You know, what I think kills some desire to make a posting is the attitude of the individuals who cannot read a posting without colour illustrations. Someone goes to the trouble to make a post detailing a rifle or the results from shooting some carefully prepared handloads and some moron posts the "this thread is useless without pics" stuff. I experienced that particular flame after posting my review of the Kimber Tactical ( a rifle that isn't available in big numbers and one there isn't much written about ) so I'm somewhat disinclined to post a follow-up range report.

This time of year usually sees me tearing down my rifle and hitting the reloading bench to stock up for the end of winter's cruel grasp.

The handguns that have been ignored since melt get their trigger time as all my shooting is forced indoors and at 30 yards and less :(

I'll try to report on my search and installation of a .25MOA mount and new front rest but I'm thinking that maybe less than entertaining.

lol.

Guys need pictures to associate words with it.

So here is my 6mmBR

Magnum Peanut,
It's hard to talk about precision rifles, then grab a muzzleloader to go hunting with. My kid and I are sitting 7 for 7 shots, with 7 more deer tags to fill.Centerfire season better hurry.

In PR related news, I have my new improved 1200 yard range figured out, as well as having the option of taking a quarter turn and blasting out to a mile. (or whatever --- x 2 is) It's sort of like buying kid's shoes too big, leaving room to grow into.;)The 800 will soon be known as the kiddy range.

Wow 7 eh. ML season just started here. I can't stand MLs. I can wait for regular firearm season.
I think a weekend shoot/camp out is in order come spring Dogleg.

I've been out trying to find a decent sized deer over 500 yards away but to no avail. I did let Rita bark once this hunting season already. To bad it was only at 80 yards. But I'll tell you this, it sure did a number on the forehead of a moose. Flipped him right onto his back. As soon as regular rifle season is over, I'm gonna send it away to get bedded and the action worked on. Then I'm gonna load up some 208 amaxs' And some 210 bergers and see how she likes to spit them out.

I'm gonna bed my 700 today or tomorrow and after that I'll have something to talk about :D I'll load up some match ammo and go to the range.

Was trying to shoot straight on saturday but with 25km/hr winds and gust up to 45km/hr I was crying:( Did get one group at .866" at 100 yards but I wanted to go for distance. Took it plinking sunday after a day of rock climbing but ran out of ammo real quick as I only had 1 box with. Pic of my new rifle...Savage 10 .308
