Lol - don't listen to these turkeys - sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you pull, the handle breaks off!
And so, a little pre-persuasion, as you did, is sometimes in order!
One tip - put some nice work/shooting/mechanix-wear gloves on: it is surprising how much harder our bodies let us pull up on stuff if our nervous system doesn't sense impending finger pain.
Oh, and careful about working the handle to and fro, thinking that we're"loosening" something - we're not....we're fatiguing the metal and weakening it.
