Nice to see another X39 bullet choice out there but no one has mentioned another good choice for low cost hunting ammo.
Cast your own, Lee makes some good pointed moulds 155 and 160gr for the sks. If you want another option, there is the 180gr RN .311 mould for the .303 brit that also works well in the sks.
By casting and reloading you are never short of cheap ammo and you can make a custom load for hunting and target shooting. It may cost a few bucks to get started but it pays off compared to the piice for hard to find rounds that are never in stock.
I have even pulled surplus ammo and reused 20 of the 22.5grs of powder in a brass case under a 155gr cast gc bullet. Super cheap non corrosive ammo and since the original berdan primed case is not touched, I pass those on to a friend that doesn't mind shooting the corrosive stuff to add his fav powder and bullet to as well. Then I save the FMJ bullets pulled to be loaded when ever. Its like parting out a cheap milsurp round and getting 2 shots and a bullet to be used later
