I finally got a bunch of shooting done using my M305. I purchased it probably over 6 years ago but haven't shot it much. I've had it to the range several times in the last two weeks and I finally have figured out why I couldn't get it to group well.
In short, it was the cheap 7.62 ammo (Chech I think). After stripping off, cleaning up and carefully reinstalling the scope/rings/mount, and then trying 6 different types / brands of ammo, I've found one that the rifle really likes.
Next I'll have to worki up a handload that works as well so I can afford to still shoot this rifle. At least now I know the rifle can perform pretty well when fed properly.
Oh if you want to work with/record your groups, check out the app Blastic-X. It's available on iPhone and Android and it makes measuring and recording your groups very, very, very easy. The app isn't cheap, something like $12 or $13 dollars but it does one job and it does it very well.
