Good afternoon Canadian Gunnutz,

We've just gotten our shipment of GSG-15s! These .22LR semi-auto rifles are a great looking and handy little plinker!

The GSG-15 in black for $499.95, online or in store!

The GSG-15 in Flat Dark Earth is also $499.95 in store or online!

The GSG-15 spare magazines are $44.95 in store or online.

Thanks
Colin D

They are great looking! Are they reliable?

Good morning,

They seem to be from what I have seen. I would imagine that like any semi-automatic .22LR the ammunition choice will play a big part in whether they cycle etc. A higher velocity ammunition will usually be the best choice, while a low velocity round likely would not be able to cycle the action as reliably.

Thanks
Colin D

How do these differ from the ISSC MK22? They look identical in pictures, ignoring the stock. The mags are the same, the charging handle mechanism is the same, mag release, safety - even the rails.

I've found that waxed rounds like those from CCI give the MK22 FTF heartburn, even the high-velocity Stingers. They'll feed fine for a while, then it all goes belly up and becomes a jamomatic. I'm a fan of the Federal "target grade performance" Automatch AM22 rounds now. From all outward appearances, the GSG will be similar in its taste.

Good morning,

I am not able to say what the differences are for these, as I don't have the ISSC to compare with, but they are both intended to look like the SCAR and ACRs. I do know that the ISSC was upgraded to a second generation that was intended to solve the problems that were being seen.

I imagine that like any of the semi auto .22s that I've used there is a definite preference for ammunition, and that good maintenance is a must. I have had good luck with CCI AR-Tac .22LR ammunition in my usage. This is an ammunition designed for AR style semi-auto .22s and has a copper plating if you are having issues with waxed lead.

CCI .22LR AR Tactical is $38.95 for 300 rounds on our website.

Thanks

The 525 round federal Value pack ammo feeds better than the CCI in my opinion. But both end up being quite reliable. If you guys still have some mags in Stock I will be by on the weekend to grab a couple! This gun is tons of fun to shoot!

thumbs up for the CCI tactical. 1400 rounds without cycling issues or cleaning.

cant say the same about remington goldens... 200 rounds in and a failure every mag.

...using Remington Golden or Bucket O Bullets... well that is your fault :p Never heard anything good bout them. But other ammo I have put through mine has been no problem. Only feed problem I had was on the first magazine and I put a round in wrong and got rim lock. That was my bad. Other than that have shot 750-1000 high velocity through it since with no hiccups. You can't use standard or quiets they won't fully cycle the action and will jam or you have to work the bolt for each one.. I tried. But It even says to only run High velocity ammo. I have even shot hollowpoints (American Eagle) in mine with no problems.

Is this a ####ty gun though? Like will it just wear out in five years and be garbage or will it still be kicking? GSG is an airsoft company, I’m not sure I trust them to manufacture an actual gun.

They make the STG44 .22 as well and many guys have good things to say about them. They are as well made as any other modern .22s are. You want to know if they will still be running in 10 yrs of hard use? No idea I don't have a time machine. But I like mine.

I bought the stg44 pulled it from the box brand new and the stupid barrel cover fell right off revealing the tiny covered pencil barrel needless to say I sent it back for a refund figured if it broke/ fell apart new what would happen after it was shot. it was bought from canam and the return process went very easily

First negative I have heard but then never had one in my hands. I do have the GSG15 and like it.

Other than having to replace the safety and firing pin, my GSG 1911 is pretty solid providing I keep it well greased. You can tell it was made to hit a price point though, it definitely isn't the smoothest or best aligned gun in the world, hence loving grease.

When in store I was looking at the stg44. It might have been the heaviest .22 I've ever had in my hands.

That is probably why they went with the pencil barrel as noted above. TheGSG 15 doesn't have that issue, that said there are things like the trigger is not the lightest or smoothest, but that may wear in with time, but it seems to function well and is fun to shoot.
