I finally got out to shoot the old girl and see how it shoots!
I tried both the Sierra 165 grain HPBT, and the Hornady 160 grain FTX bullets.

This is the first of three concecutive groups of this average size.

The rifle shot both Leverevolution, and Varget VERY well!
Varget was producing around 125fps less velocity. Accuracy was essentially the same.

What a wonderful suprise to see this rifle shoot THIS WELL!

I shot a few cast bullet loads as well, and it grouped around 2-1/2" for the two loads. Some improvement needed there.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures!

Nothing wrong with the old 99's. Back in the 1920's through the 1960's they were considered as accurate as the average bolt gun. I don't know when exactly they became old woods guns that shot minute of milk jug? I have owned three and all shot right around one inch groups with factory loads. This defies conventional wisdom that two piece stocks, light barrels and levers are inherently inaccurate.
