Just put a Nikon Monarch 3 on this minty fresh bad girl. I have never....ever.....ever......had a rifle that felt so good to shoot, fit the hands like a glove, or made me smile after caressing that trigger...... until now. I finally know what people mean when they say, the right rifle will scream Daddy to you. lol Even bought a weatherby and I like it too. But I dont think I could ever go back to Savage rifles.. lol

Silver scopes are gauche. I would have used black rings as well (though negating the advantage of getting rings FREE with a Ruger rifle).

I love Ruger firearms, but the shiny stainless canoe paddle models have always left me a little cold.

I agree on both counts. You never, ever, ever use a silver scope! My Ruger now wears a McMillan and I had the stainless bead blasted, now it's perfect!

i have been looking for this rifle for many many moons.. and when this mint one popped up on cgn out of the blue i PM'd the seller like I was a freak, lol.

Before mounting the Nikon... I did play with the irons and they shot a nice tight group for irons at 100 meters. I was amazed. but if anything happens to the scope i can take it off.. flip up the rear sight and still keep hunting.
 
I must admit that the stock on those Rugers has never grown on me but I know several guides in BC that carry them just because they are so darned indestructible. I'm sure you are going to love it...even with that scabby Nikon on top ;) Looks good Mike.....sure she'll shoot as well as she looks!
 
That rifle is like an ugly girl that puts out & is a good cook. I have Remington BDL stainless like that in 375 H&H except the stock does show a couple of scars. Is that the Sherwood range your at?
