Due to the "senior/youth" hunt for antlerless elk in the south eastern B.C., this area was full of senior (over 65) hunters. I was dangerous to get to close to these senior hunters, since they like to talk (a lot), and very hard to get away from, and the oldest senior hunter I encountered was 82 years old
Many of the seniors and other hunters had fourtrax, which forced the elks and deers into very difficult to hunt areas, and thus made it easier to do some stalking in the obvious dense areas where no one could drive their expensive toys. Thanks
A three point white-tailed buck responded to my calls, which was shoot at 75 yards with my 300 Winchester, using a 165 grain Hornady bullet. So far the most spetacular kill I ever made, whereupon the white-tail deer jumped into the air, flipped around before landing. Suddenly the deer jumped up again, and at high speed disappeared into the forest, but it did not run far, since the classic lung shoot did it works. Two days later, my hunting partner, while stalking white-tail deer in the dense forrest, shoot a young antlerless bull elk, and thus ended our first hunt of this fine hunting season
