I am reloading .45 auto for the first time.I actually haven't done any reloading for years and i guess it will show here.I cannot figure out how to bell the cases with my new dillon dies.An old set of rcbs in 9mm that i own have a separate die for belling but not so for these dillons. There is nothing in the instructions on how to do it although they say it needs to be done.I am using an old rockchucker single stage press if that matters but i think not.Im missing something obvious here but have grown tired of this riddle.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Would be nice if you said what press.. But....

Belling is done at the powder station... there is a powder thru funnel die.. if you adjust the die down you will bell more..

Undo the 2 screws hold the PM onto the die...
Unlock the die locking ring...
spin the die down a bit.. lock it..
and reattach the PM..

I don't know what a powder thru die is and i believe i did mention it was an old rockchucher single stage [rcbs].No powder station on this one.The store were i bought the dies said no problem using them on a single stage.I have been away from this to long. Thanks for the input though.

Honeyman,

Dillon uses a belling sleeve that sits below the powder measure. When you buy Dillon dies there is a conversion kit that is required for the press as well. In the conversion kit it has the shellholder and the powder funnel (as Dillon calls it).

The guys who sold you the dies failed to mention that you would need the funnel from the conversion kit.

You need to buy a belling die in order to reload 45 on your RCBS press.

Hope this helps.
