Thomas Adsett & Son SxS

I suppose you could open up the full barrel to end up with Modified and Skeet.

Strange combination, Full and Skeet. Almost like the approach was "spray and pray" if it's a close presentation and "take your time" if it's a long shot.

Actually the combination of 1 and 4 chokes on a SxS was just discussed on another forum and apparently this was not an unusual combination. Most double shooters who responded said it is a very good combination. I know I have an old Flues model that is choked 1 &4.

That's interesting. To my knowledge, I've never seen one choked 1 & 4 (fixed). I don't have a proper gauge for measuring barrels (and other than Holt's, I don't know anyone nearby who has ever claimed to have one), so I can't be sure all my measurements have been accurate over the years.

I've noticed in various forums that Eastern upland hunters tend to recommend M/IC. Western upland hunters are split between M/IC and F/M. It depends, of course, on the type of cover local to the hunter. And, these are gross generalizations. But, if I'm seeing things that aren't really there (and perhaps not seeing that which is), this would be normal for me. :p
