Thompson Center Encore / Pro Hunter Good Bad Ugly?

What is the feedback on this platform , I have seen on other forums some scary blow ups and complaints of head space problems over time.

Thoughts ?

I had one. Good shooter but too heavy for what ya get. I'd rather carry my bolt rifles.

I really like mine, enough that I bought a second frame(blued), multiple stock sets, & a few barrels. At first I thought they kinda looked funny but when I got a chance to shoulder one it just felt good so I bought it.

The 30-06 seems to be my "go to", It just plain works. I wouldn't mind getting a few inches chopped off some of these barrels though, 28" seems unnecessary, not that they are a long clumsy firearm, but 24" would just handle that much better imo. I have had zero issues with mine.

I like mine as have a couple. I had few barrels cut to 20”. They handle better for me and don’t get tangled as much. Believe the pressure and frame stretching has been more with the contender frame as being overloaded past the 50k psi limit

I love mine. Have 50 cal muzzleloader barrel, 45-70, 30-06, 223 and 204 barrel. All shoot very well.

I really like my 50 cal muzzleloader as well! The only negative would be the lack of product support here in Ontario. I'm not sure if things have changed, but a number of years ago I was in Elwood Epps talking to a staff member at the gun counter and he was saying that Thompson required a substantial order before they would ship to Canada. I don't remember the exact figure, but it was large enough that Epps needed to group with other gun shops.

I like mine I have 2 frames 4 forearms and 204, 223, 308, 7mm mag, 300 mag, 45-70 and muzzle loader and I have never run into problems with any of them

I have two, both with m/l, rifled slug and .222; .223; .45-70 and .30-06 barells.

Great accuracy, I like the ergonomics.

my favorite firearm that I own. 2 frames several barrels. too bad S&W are desolving T/C............ my only complaint has ever been lack of product and support................
