Can anyone give me an oppinion on the accuracy potential of these single shot rifles. Particularly the heavy barreled models.

Thanks

I have read lots on how T/C Encore make accurate rifles, but I haven’t been as fortunate. I had originally purchased this rifle in the 7 mm Rem. Mag but was not impressed so I ordered a 350 Rem Mag. custom barrel for my rifle. I’m still having problems with accuracy so it’s in my safe collecting dust until I have more time to experiment with loads. Some guys loves there T/C , as for me it hasn’t been much of a pleasant experience.

The problem that I have with my T/C Contender carbine is when changing barrels I have not been able to tighten the fore end screws to exactly the same resulting in the point of aim shifting minutely.

My Encore is accurate, but there is the problem of shifting point of impact. It's hard to figure as sometimes it's there but most times not. Same thing with shots stringing vertically.

With a Bellm oversize hinge pin and do-it-yourself trigger job using his CD I have had stable results the last 3 times I used it with a factory .223 barrel. Also have had stable results with a 6.5 wildcat.

If shooting off a bench holding the foreend with your hand resting on the bag seems .

I have a 26 inch heavy barrel in 300WM Encore, all stock and no problems with shifting impact. It is a sub MOA shooter with most every bullet I have tried. I don't know why anyone would need to do the trigger on an Encore... they are very good out of the box.

I have a T/C inline muzzleloader that shoots pretty well, but I've heard mized reviews about the centrefires.

I read testimonials on some site and one guy stated "I have 6 drop-in barrels for my Encore, changing barrels is a snap and I've never had to re-sight. They all have thier own scopes attached"

I have never fired an Encore that would not shoot MOA in any calibre including Muzzle loaders. I use Leupold Quik Remove (QR) mounts and rings and they never lose the POA. It makes it easy to use one scope for several barrels or several different optics for one barrel. Just keep a log of your scope settings and you can flip them and return them to the POA for any combination!

My barrel was ordered from the states from Virgin Valley but they have closed the doors to custom barrels. They are now known as www.strattoncustom.com and don’t sell barrels. I had no problem in having my barrel shipped from the states at that time being about 2 years ago. Strattoncustoms does sell a well designed hammer extension if you’re interested. Good luck in your adventure.....
