My son shot his Whitetail this morning so we documented a few things. This was one of them. This seems to be a big concern with the gutless method.

Congratulations to your son on a fine WT! For what it's worth I've found on a deer I can pretty much work the tenderloin out with my fingers and release it at the ends with a knife.

Looks an awful lot like just N of the forks, or, most anyplace else in S. Ab, but I suspect on that hill behind your son I called in a real nice antelope and I'd guess there's a slough to your son's right haha.(but I've been wrong before) Glad things worked out well.

Thanks, but you are off on the location. :)

My boy, who is 14 now, had a chance to help me process 2 Elk Wednesday and did a great job at getting out the loins with the gutless method after watching the first one done. This is the only way that I go about getting my game home now for the past few years. I am an avid fan of the Piranta knives for the process as well. It took 1 blade per Elk with the Piranta, 30 minutes each, game bagged and loaded in the truck. 2 Elk down, bagged, home and hanging in less than 7 hours, I love southern Alberta!!
