Thoughts on .22 bird shot??

They're also useful for nailing pesky bats that get into older houses. A BB gun or pellet gun is too prone to ricochet, but the .22 shot is just perfect. Caution- will SLIGHTLY damage drywall or wallpaper.

They are also good for shooting empty plastic pop bottles in your basement.

I've used these in many uses and out of many length barrels. I use the "crimped" Federal ones as oposed to the blue cap CCR ones for .22lr. At close range 5~20 feet I've killed srews, mice, rats, red squirls, and (once or twice) spruce grouse. Only thing I buy them for is pest control around the farm where ricochets would be a problem. At $10 or more a box there seriousily over priced.

Now I've used the .22mag CCR "Blue cap" shot in my Marlin .22mag and was very suprised. I killed at about 25~30yrds with it. Though, if you can't hit a bird with a single bullet at that range, you need more pratice.

I use them for shooting red squirrels. You pretty much have to hold the squirrel by the tail. They do work at ten ft. or less. Better than having lead bullets whizzing around.:p
