Thoughts on attaching scope or red dot to shotgun rib for hunting

I'm not interested in making any permanent alterations to my shotguns (such as tapping holes), but I was looking at ways to attach a red dot or scope for deer season.

Does anyone have any experience attaching a red dot or scope to the top rib of a semi or pump shotgun?

What make of shotgun you talking about?
Remington has a few ideas as does Winchester.
But, more info is required.

12 gauge Pardus pump or 20 gauge Benelli Nova pump would be my deer hunting shotgun.

You would need a scope with unlimited eye relief.... The vent rib is just too far from your eye.

Best way to get a red dot mounted on a traditional shotgun is a Burris SpeedBead. Mount fits between your stock and receiver. Very light weight and easy to use.

If your top is already drilled and tapped - any rail with LOW mounted red dot will do.

This was the first thing I thought of. It has a small plate the goes through the gap in the rib and has 4 screws that lock the top sight down onto the rib.

Aimpoint makes a red dot that attached directly to the rib. Really cool sight.

This one would appear to be a $25 copy of the mentioned VOMZ. Ordered one to check it out.

Remington used to make a cantilever attachment that would mount to the rib and overhang the receiver. I did see one at Epps a while ago. You could make a phone call?
