thoughts on CCI ammo

I've shot a lot of Mini-Mags over the years and I've found them to be one of the most reliable kinds of ammo. I can't ever remember pulling the trigger and a round not going bang actually. I haven't used the Velocitors before, but shoot a lot of Stingers. CCI is my favourite brand of rimfire ammo.

on my budget, I consider CCI ammo to be more of a treat, like when you stay on a diet all week, then pig out on the weekend. I usually treat myself to some for my .22 handguns every so often.

What do you guys think about CCI mini mags and Velocitors? Ive never used them but have a chance to buy a bunch here.

Cheers!!

buy a bunch if you can. I tried several types of ammo in a Thompson Center R-55 and the CCI minimags cycled the action the best AND were by far the most accurate, more so than Eley match in that particular rifle. They also work very well, as for accuracy in a CZ 452 actioned scout. If you look closely at the bullets and measure them you will see they are very consistent from one bullet to the next, have very few imperfections, consequently the QC is obviously very good and they are reliable. Even the packaging is impressive as the bullets are kept separate and don't nick or damage each other again making them more accurate. Plus they aren' that expensive, between 3.50-4.00 for 50.

Seize upon the CCI Minimag (solids) if you can - reliable functioning for even the pickiest rimfires! :)

Their price will only go up, and the availability will only go down from here-on-in....:(

I don't usually buy/advise to buy loads of ammunition in advance, but you cannot go wrong with the Minimags......:)

I'm kicking myself for when I could have bought as much as I would have wanted @ $6/100.......:(

Scott where are you , i WANT SOME but couldnt find any (Havnt looked for couple weeks)
I want some mini mags and SS HP's

scott_r, the mini mags are ok. They are no Stingers, though. If the price is right you can't go wrong on CCI.

Ive got stingers and didnt really care for them, I have a .204 if I want high velocity. I just wanted to try the mini mags as I hear they are very reliable plus you get a shell holder. I managed to get a brick from a friend.

Cheers!!

If you ever run across some Stingers, scott, that you don't want, let me know. I just think they are the greatest thing ever, when it comes to .22's.

Thanks,
BL

CT here in Gander always has those in stock.. I've never really bothered with them because I'm not too interested in real high velocity ammunition in the .22. However, CT here also carries CB Caps..
