Thoughts on DW Pointman 7

I'm thinking about getting a Pointman 7. Any thoughts on quality, accuracy etc. Thanks guys.

So I went to look at it last night. Turns out it was listed wrong. Not a Pointman, but a Bobtail Classic.

Still a very nice pistol. Primary difference from the PM7 is the shorter length (Commander sized) and the 'bobtail' at the bottom of the rear grip.

It felt better in my hand than anything I've tried in 2 years of shopping for a 1911. Tried Wilsons, STIs, Springers, Paras, just about everything I could get my handson. It now has a new home.

No doubt in my mind it will become one your most cherished pistols...the Bobtails usually sell very quickly and aren't made in large numbers so I think you did right buying it! Enjoy.............

There are very few things better than a properly put together 1911, the Dan Wessons fall into that category.

Not looking to hijack, but what advantages does the bobtail offer over say, std 1911 grip. Is it just personal preference and a different look or do they feel, and handle differently?

They do feel different, the bobtail is right where the meat in the bottom of your hand is. Fits me well. Kinda somthing you have to feel to see if you like it.
