Dang i am really interested in this pistol now too. Sounds like a good bang for my buck kind of deal.
Thoughts on Girsan MC28 9mm

Great gun. Bought it in green/black for $369 at Epps, extra (third) magazine (Girsan) was only $38. About 3.000 rounds through it, different manufacturers, 115 and 124 grain. No issues at all, not a single jam, quite accurate and fun to shoot. Seems to like the 115 grain more, but maybe that's just me... Fits like a glove in the Blackhawk holster for the M&P. Yes, the trigger is not the best I've ever used, but for half the price of a Glock I'm OK with that!
I have had mine out twice now, first time to the outdoor range and the second to the indoor range, mine didn't like the 115 grain it kept stove piping but at the indoor I was using 147 grain and that problem went away, I only have 120 rounds total through it and I'm sure it will eat 115's in no time but at 20 yards I was hitting center and that is not bad for a newbie with a new gun. I found the trigger to be 100% better than the S&W sd9ve it replaced, also a much much better feeling gun in my hand.

Good to hear all these positive reviews on the MC28. I recently sold my unfired M&P9 to a buddy for financial reasons and even though I have another 9mm I felt a gap in the ol' safe that needed to be filled, so after selling some other toys I just ordered a Tan Girsan MC28. At $365 I really couldn't ignore it!
I have been researching this gun on Google because I am interested in possibly buying one. I have not seen one in the flesh. There seems to be a substantial gap between the slide and the frame at the rear of the pistol. Can any current owners comment on this or post a picture of the rear of the pistol?
I know it looks a bit funny but remember this pistol uses internal slide rails cz style....it is a great pistol for the money. The way the mags slide in and out is near perfection. It is more accurate than i am and i would not hesitate to buy another.

As I recall my M&P had a huge gap between slide and frame.

I don’t know what will fit but that reminded me of my buddy's first range trip with his M&P. He let me shoot the first mag and that's when I noticed his front sight white dot had popped out. It was an actual little insert not just a painted dot.
Tell him to get some orange fluorescent paint from a local hobby shop and dab a drop on the sight with a toothpick. Problem solved. He will be amazed how bright and easy it is to pick up the front sight.
Are you sure the disk was not just dried white paint?

Just got a new, unfired MC28 on EE. I have several M&Ps (2x9mm, 40, 45) so can make the obvious comparison.
Sights are 3 dot. Steel. Excellent. Rear notch is wider than M&P. Better for shooting quickly, and much better for old farts, like me.
Trigger is crisper than M&P, but heavier. It breaks clean at 7.5 pounds. If it gets any lighter with usage, it will be an excellent trigger. I am going to see if I can install a spring to make it lighter.
Mags are Meg-Gar steel. Excellent quality. The CZ style mags from my Canik T-120 fit perfectly. Comes with only 2. Wish it was 3, but at least there are lots of CZ style mags around to source.
Comes with three back-straps. Push out the pin to change. It is a pushed out with finger pressure, using the steel punch supplied. Installed the Small, for my grandson.
Grip is comfy, similar to a M&P. Much nicer than my Glocks.
Only compliany so far is the mag realease. It does not stick out very far. I have made a mod that I have done to some other pistols. I put a dab of 5 minute epoxy on it. I put on a very small dab of fresh epoxy, when it is quite runny, to wet the surface. A minute later, as the epoxy is slightly gooey, I put on a bigger dab and then put the pistol down on a coffee cup, dab down. It hardens as a pointy protrusion on top of the release. I find this much easier to reach.
A good pistol and impressive for the price.
Next step is to shoot it.
