I got a pretty sweet deal on a 2012 model norinco m305 with the 18.6" barrel. I've shot it and its pretty accurate. I bought it planning on starting it as a project gun. I was thinking about getting the Blackfeather chassis and throwing some AR-15 furniture on it. Anyone have any experience with the blackfeather or similar chassis?

I've got two. Love'm

I don't have any sort of chassis by any name, but I did the AR15 stock adapter thing on my M305 with the original synthetic stock.

Love the look, but it made the whole thing unbalanced, ie front heavy. Also, any metal chassis would make an already heavy gun even heavier.

Finally, look at the spacing between the pistol grip and the trigger. It's the same on mine, quite a distance for the finger, which ends up not contacting the trigger face with the pad of the finger, but contacts the right edge of the trigger. I ended up taking a file to the edge to soften the contact, but it's still not ideal.

I'm now on the lookout for a decent used walnut stock for mine.

Awesome chassis and able to be configured in many, many ways. Well designed / manufactured and functional in every respect. Probably my favourite rifle is in one of these, so yes, I would highly recomend them.

Candocad.

As other have said, awsome awsome chassie! It takes the m14 from the sixties to the two thousand. Imo the m14 in any configuration can not compete with the modern NR ar10 like the stag. But the blackfeather brings it so much closer and basically into a serviceable weapon! My advise is go the lightest possible or it will turn into a thirteen pound monster very quickly.
