Thoughts on the Mauser M18 in .30-06?

I've heard decent things about it. I like three position safeties which the m18 has, so that's a major plus in my books. There is a CGN sponser on here who sells a cerakoted model that looks cool. Generally Mauser just makes good stuff so I see no reason why their take on a budget rifle would be any different.

Triggers and bows was the site sponser. Check their cerakoted model out here: https://www.triggersandbows.com/sto...ote-Exclusive-to-Triggers-and-Bows-p590774694

I’ve had one in 308 now for a couple of years.
I have been very pleased with it so far. It’s very easy to carry, feels great when you shoulder it, and the little rifle really shoots. No problem getting MOA. Got 2 black bears with it so far.

Sauer 100 in a slightly more flimsy stock, minor bolt handle difference, but basically exactly the same rifle, same action/barrel/mags.
Not a single thing Mauser about these other then being stamped Mauser instead of Sauer on the side of them.

I've handled a few sauer 100s and shot my friend`s 30-06 this fall and filled my deer tag. Very accurate. It seems very hard to beat at that price point ($800). I recommended the M18 to another friend for his 1st do-all hunting rifle a few months ago as I couldn't find any sauer 100s in 30-06 new for under $800 but there were plenty of Mausers. I have only handled it, not shot it yet but as it has been mentioned t's almost indistinguishable from the Sauer 100. Smooth bolt, stock doesn't feel cheap IMO and nice trigger pull. I still think they are hard to beat at that price point. They take common rings too. Unless stainless is a must, I would pick it over a tikka and put the savings on better glass.
