I currently have been using a redding Trimmer and a Sinclar VLD chamfer tool and really like them. I like the design of the Redding over most because it turns the case into the blade rather than vice versa like most other's. I feel you get much better alignment.

But with my ever expanding gun collection  I find myself bored with trimming, chamfering, and neck turning and want to spend more time shooting and less time getting ready.

What type's of power trimmer's are out there ? This is what I have come up with so far, but want to see more options. I want quality but ...............

Does anyone here use these ? I seen them in Handloader Magazine.

Motorizing

I had the good fortune to be given a Lyman motordriven case trimmer with all the pilots.
It is a whole lot faster than trimming by hand!
Next buy will be a carbide cutter or adapting a do-it-all trim, chamfer and deburr cutting head.
PP.:D

I do what Supercub does, except I just hold the drill flat on the bench. For non-standard calibres I use a Lyman universal. I also hate trimming cases, the Lee system is brilliant in it's simplicity.

I use 1.... worth every penny... I do alot of .308, .338, .50 BMG and it does 3 jobs in 1 and saves me alot of prep time. Not to mention its powered, which is a step up from my forester (which is also a great set up).

just my 2 cents...

I made some adjustment on a friends Gracey timmer. It took all of about 5 minutes to get set up correctly and it trims to length and chamfers the inside and outside perfectly in seconds per case. Lengths very about .001. I was going to buy one, but he told me I could use his anytime:D

When I started reloading I had a Forester case trimmer, a fairly basic model but it served me well. I've started a gradual process of upgrading some of my equipment and after seeing how well my buddy liked his Lyman Universal trimmer I decided to get one. No regrets. It works well, handles anything I have or will probably get and there are a lot of 'upgrade' goodies to make it even better.:)

Another top of the line trimmer is the Giraud Power Trimmer, it is what I would buy if I had that much spare cash to spend on a power trimmer. I have a Lyman power trimmer with the carbide cutter which works great but not having to debur would be awesome.
Just ad the WWW's to the link below.

Have a Giraud and wonder why I didn't do it sooner. It is one of those "gadgets" that after you use it the first time you wonder why the hell you didn't get it sooner , yes, it is a few bucks but the time it will save you in just a few months is worth it.
