I have a bit of a problem. One of my rifles just doesn't have enough rail space and I want to mount a flash light for varminting. The only solution I can come up with is a universal barrel mount, however my first instinct is to not have anything touch the barrel. I have no logical reason for it, but I just have a gut feeling that it might not be a good idea for some reason or other, maybe heat, shock, etc. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
