I am the proud owner of a Blackfeather stock and other M14.ca products. I am anticipating the release of the "LMB" or light muzzle brake. I have sent in my barrel to Dlask Arms to have my barrel cut and threaded to 1/2 x 28 tpi. This is the only way to use the LMB. There are alot of options for brakes and flash hiders for that particular thread. There are also a great number of brakes that use the 5/8 x 24 tpi thread. There is an adapter that you can get to screw on to the 1/2 x 28 to make it 5/8 x 24. You can get it at Brownell's and thesilencerstore.com for 2 examples. Problem is they won't ship them to Canada.

Does anyone know where I can get such an adapter in CANADA?

You can get an adaptor from Armtac when they get some new stock.

That castle nut adapter will not work. As I posted I am having my barrel cut and threaded tp 1/2 x 28 tpi to allow for the install of the light muzzle brake. That adapter is for use on an origial threading of the Norc. I am not sure what thread pitch is for the standard Norc.

Well, I found someone who got one for me. My long hunting paid off. Just waiting for it in the mail. The person picked one up for me while in USA. Big thanks to him. This is a great forum.

-10 points to m14.ca for not making one for all the many norc/poly owners here in canada!!!!

I wouldn't be harsh just yet. His brake hasn't even officially moved into production. His muzzle brake is threaded to 1/2 x 28 tpi so if he supplied this part he would be handing over sales to other people for the cost of a nominal part. I did however wish that the front sight (which is currently attached to the M14.ca brake "LMB") was attached to the barrel instead. I haven't seen an adapter that reduces the standard M14 configuration to 1/2 x 28 tpi (although they likely exist). That would be the piece useful to him. They do not want to add any unecessary weight to the barrel with things like adapters as was explained to me.

Well when I talked to them I was told they wouldn't be making one for the norc! I don't want to have a cheesy adaptor on the end of my rifle!

I guess I don't understand. Are you upset that he is not making an adapter for his muzzle brake (the "LMB")? Can you get the end of your Norc threaded so you don't need an adapter? It is not very expensive to have done.

Haha I'm not upset at all!
They make great products!!
I just wish someone would make a direct fit for the damn metric threads!

Yeah there really is limited selection for metric parts. I also agree M14.ca makes awesome stuff! I got the impression with the "!!!!!" you were displeased with them. I kind of felt they may lose alot of business as people have to cut and thread their barrels just to be able to use their muzzle brake. That suprised me but once it sunk in I don't mind altering the barrel especially since I have the adapter to use 1/2 x 28 tpi AND 5/8 x 24 tpi muzzle threads. Now I will have a vast selection to choose from. I think the M14 looks a little nicer with the barrel cut back too.

It seems to me there is a killing to be made for many of these products Canadians can't buy. Don't they realize the demand? I had a similar problem with my Grizzly-Mag shotgun. The butt stock nut had been manufactured in metric so the standard Remington 870 stocks wouldn't work until I changed the bolt to metric (which turned out to be a real pain in the ass for the one I used). We don't have the same volume of guns in Canada but hell we love to shoot crap up as much as the next yankee (no disrespect). I am interested to see how that testing turns out. Let us know.
