Can someone tell me if it possible to thread the barrel (not a heavy barrel)on savage Mark II-G without removing the front sight (if it have enough space between the end of the barrel and the sight.
it depends on how much space there is between the front sight and the muzzle and its diameter. in theory a die could cut that thread if the diameter is right if the diameter is wrong you will have to turn some off the barrel in a lathe at which point you migh as well thread it while it's in there
