Been having some trouble finding a shop that is able to thread a chamber bore 20ga for chokes. Anyone able to do that or know of a shop that can?

Rent the tooling(reamer/bushings/tap) from 4D Reamer Rentals in MT for $60 USD.

Turn a pusher w/ total lathe time to complete the task at less than 1 Hr.

Dan,

Rental across the border does not work well... it takes too long clearing customs each way and if Canadian Customs decides to charge an importation fee it's a lot of paperwork trying to get that back.

I doubt a US business would bother doing a rental out of the country.

Carefully measure the inside diameter of your shotgun's muzzle.

I think you meant to call it "cylinder bore"

Brownelle's out of the US, sells taps that are made to clean up existing threads. They are reasonably priced for what you're going to do. The thing is, you need to be able to hold that tap absolutely concentric with the axis of the bore. Make sure your barrel has enough thickness to actually be threaded safely.

That tap isn't meant to be used for the purpose of cutting complete internal threads to install chokes.

However, if you don't have access to a lathe and tooling to cut internal threads, it will do the job IF YOU"RE VERY CAREFUL.

Chris Wilcox from Cherryville Gunworks or Chris Weber from Markin and Weber can to an excellent job for you.

Epps quoted $125 for the work. Add taxes and shipping both ways and ...bingo! If you can do it (or know where it can be done) for $80 then tell Graham. That would be useful.

If you bother to read what I said you'd understand I was talking about having 12 gauge barrels threaded for much less. $125 isn't bad and I doubt shipping would run anywhere near $75.
