I took full advantage of Bullseye's sale on the CZ 455 Varmint last week and was able to take the rifle out yesterday with great results. I'm very happy with everything except for the stock bolt knob. It barely clears my scope with medium rings and is too small for me in general. Normally I would send it off to be threaded for an aftermarket knob but for some reason CZ made the decision to make the knob with a hole in it exactly where a gunsmith would normally create the threads.

Several companies make replacement bolt handles but I see in many cases the replacement handles change the headspace or cause premature wear in other areas. While searching through other forms I see it mentioned that others have filled the hole with a brass plug, epoxy or even welded it full before threading it, but none have shown the finished product so I'm a little skeptical of those options. I've already messaged two site sponsors who thread knobs and neither was willing to take it on. I'm hoping someone on the forums has a solution for me other than permanently welding on a new knob, although that's something I would consider as a last effort.
