Threading barrel for muzzle break

I have a Remington sps tactical and I'm looking to get it threaded for a muzzle break. I've narrowed it down to a few breaks that I like but what I'm starting to find is that the OD of my barrel seems to be either smaller or larger than the OD of the breaks. I'm just wondering if this is the norm? And if not where would one look to get One that is the proper OD so as to not look funny as hell on my barrel?

Brakes (not spelled break) are usually larger than the rifle muzzle. Larger looks fine and is the norm...

Yeah, that's a misspelling on my part typing fast and not paying attention haha. I believe the OD on the sps tactical is .860 and most of what I see is .875? I realize the brake would be larger than the barrel just wondering about where the brake meets the barrel is all.

Various brakes can be fitted flush, they look like part of the barrel...

Or they can be tapered down like this big Holland on a small barrel...
