Three-quarter ounce for skeet?

Probably not. My experience was that if I did my part the bird was smoked. If I failed then 1-3/4 would not have helped. Recoil in my Ruger 20 was definitely reduced. My 1100 20 would not cycle them. The gun was clean, but I did not look at the recoil spring.

I was using Green Dot in old AACF hulls and they looked a bit dirty, but I don't mind that.

I occasionally load some 3/4 skeet loads in 20G for my Girlfriend. But only because she is a pipsqueak at 5 foot nothin and it reduces the recoil a bit. To me, not much of a difference and I prefer to go 7/8 or 1 oz.
