Found these little Enfield book ends at a local Thrift shop yesterday here in Victoria. Unfortunately a rifle is missing from each bookend. Oh well, was only $6 for the pair. Made of soft, heavy pewter. Wonder how old they are? Appear to be Long-Lee's although appear to have a charger-bridge (CLLE maybe?). No markings or inscriptions that I can see.

Likely shortly after the period of the Second Boer War.

The LONG rifle was much prettier than the SMLE, continued on commemorative and decorative articles well into the SMLE period of service.

REALLY nice bookends.

You could make two more of the rifles by acrylic casting into a rubber mould, then restore these to as-new condition.

GREAT find!

Did you have to kill anyone to get them..... or were they willing to accept all your money and a mortgage on your firstborn?
