I had to go to Seattle for work so I stopped at the new Cabela's in Marysville looking for new boots and a roboduck.
I got a nice pair of insulated boots on sale marked down from $149.99 to a sale price of 99.99.
Then I picked up a Lucky duck motorized spinner decoy.
I thought the price tag of $179.99 was somewhat higher than that I'd seen in the catalogue, but what the hell, I was there and really needed a new robo right away for the next two weeks as I won't be around for the rest of the season and my old one died.
So I bought it. When I got home yesterday I looked in the catalogue. Cabela's Canada sells the darn things mail order for $139.99
With shipping and tax included I'd have paid $173.00 mail order for the same thing and I had to pay Washington state tax on that $179.99 too.
I'm usually a penny-pinching shopper but I screwed myself this time.
Saved $50.00 on the boots and threw over $40.00 away on the duck.
Buyer beware. Know your prices.
