I had to go to Seattle for work so I stopped at the new Cabela's in Marysville looking for new boots and a roboduck.

I got a nice pair of insulated boots on sale marked down from $149.99 to a sale price of 99.99.

Then I picked up a Lucky duck motorized spinner decoy.

I thought the price tag of $179.99 was somewhat higher than that I'd seen in the catalogue, but what the hell, I was there and really needed a new robo right away for the next two weeks as I won't be around for the rest of the season and my old one died.

So I bought it. When I got home yesterday I looked in the catalogue. Cabela's Canada sells the darn things mail order for $139.99

With shipping and tax included I'd have paid $173.00 mail order for the same thing and I had to pay Washington state tax on that $179.99 too.

I'm usually a penny-pinching shopper but I screwed myself this time.

Saved $50.00 on the boots and threw over $40.00 away on the duck.

Buyer beware. Know your prices.

If you phone them with the skue number from the catalogue and your receipt number from the store they will usually reimburse you with Cabelas bucks! Just be persistent.

the staff at cabela's are pretty good. If you ask them to see if its cheaper online and if it is they will price match it. i bought a scentlok jacket for $119 online sale price and the store had it for $229. Whenever i go there i always ask them to check online for me.

That would irritate me too. For, one thing retail pricing is too high practically everywhere , and even if you get it on sale you are probably paying too much. Just take a look at Cabelas stores, we are paying for all that stuff!
