Thumb Over Barrel Grip

Anyone use this type of grip with their shotguns?

I find I am much more accurate and stable with my off hand thumb placed over the barrel similar to a Magpul Grip, but without my arm fully extended outwards.

Does anyone make some kind of widget to aleviate burning my thumb off while I shoot?

I thought I've seen some kind of 'over the barrel' thumb pad.

I use a thumbs high grip But not a thumb-over grip on my AR's and shotgun. I recently mounted a Magpul fore-end on my 870 and it allows for a higher thumb position than the factory or Speedfeed forearm.

My thumb is still pointed at the target just not over the barrel. Helps to soak up a lot of recoil.

Same with my AR, where it rests over my light, pointed at the target.

Alright, I am going to give that thumb high grip another go. I really do like that Magpul MOE forend.

If you add a heat shield, you could thumb over the barrel without burning yourself.

Doesn't your thumb block your sights? Or are you using raised sights AR15 style?

My thumb clears with ghost ring sights or with an optic. Using a bead would be a different story.
