Well, it has taken over 15 months but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with getting these mags adjusted to by 10/22!
I bought two of the from Tuffer Buffer here in Ontario.
While my VQ upgrades to my carbine were not without difficulty, with the help os a local CGNer, Chis, I got that problem solved.
But the mags!?
While I had much advice here on CGN (thanks to all) messages did not do the job.
Many replies were very ammo specific but this goes against the fact that the Ruger 10s feed any LR that I put in them! So the problem must be the other brand of mags.
Here at the cottage, where I shoot in my closed workshop into the wood stove with suitable target, I must have fired over 300 rounds today and I am getting some results.
Let me list the limited range of ammo that I have been testing.
Winchester Super X standard Speed, Wild Cat Hi-Speed, Federal Bulk pack, CCI Stingers, CCI CB Longs, and a few others.
I now have two TI-25 mags very close.
Both will work quite well with Win. Wild Cats and CCI Stingers. The federal Bulk Pack, no way.
And Win.Super X standard vel. a problem.
So, where am I at:
I know how I would load for a shtf - attack. (Tin Hat Firmly in Place!)
What have I done so far other than adjust the screws? Well, I took my invaluable Dremel and worked on the blue platistic follower in the mags. I cut back the angle so that the rounds appeared to sit lower at the lead than before, more like Ruger 10s. (If I bugger them up, I trust TI to supply me with two replacements which I would adjust before installation.
Further reports will follow however I will only be satisfied when these two mags perform close to the Ruger 10s.
Am I a dreamer?
